ERIE, Pa. – Thirteen players scored goals for Mercyhurst on their way to a 17-5 victory over the Penn State Behrend men's water polo team Sunday afternoon at the Junker Center.

The Division II Lakers employed a stifling defense that held the Lions to just one goal in the first half.

Behrend head coach Joe Tristan adjusted at halftime, though, as the Lions scored the first three goals of the third quarter. Freshman James Billington (Santa Ynez,CA/Santa Ynez) and sophomore Aaron Figurski (Erie,PA/McDowell) powered Behrend with two goals apiece.

Mercyhurst proved too much to overcome, as the Lakers shut-out the Lions 4-0 in the final period en route to the 17-5 win.

Behrend will next take on Occidental on October 4.
