Lions Drop Two Games Sunday

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Competing at the Bucknell Invitational, the Penn State Behrend men's water polo team lost twice on Sunday. The Lions lost the first game to Johns Hopkins by a score of 16-0. In game two, Behrend was defeated by George Washington 16-2.

Johns Hopkins controlled the action in the Lions third contest of the Bucknell Invitational. The Blue Jays jumped out to a five nothing lead in the first period and didn't look back. Behrend struggled to get their offense going and were shutout.  Ty Elder (Brentwood, CA/Heritage) made seven saves for the Lions in the matchup. Victor Nguyen (San Jose, CA/Evergreen Valley) also contributed three drawn kickouts.

In game two, Behrend was defeated by the Colonials of George Washington. The Lions fell behind early and were unable to catch up. Both of Behrend's goals came in the second period as they attempted to make a comeback. John Ingari (York, PA/Central York) scored with 4:31 left in the second period to get the Lions on the board. Behrend's second goal came from Justin Vink (Los Angeles, CA/Granada Hills Charter) with just 29 seconds remaining in the second period. Ty Elder added 10 saves in the contest.

The Lions dive back in the pool next Saturday September 20th in a noon matchup against Mercyhurst.
