Men's Water Polo Battles At Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG,  Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team traveled to Bucknell University this weekend where they were led by senior Victor Nguyen (San Jose, CA / Evergreen Valley) who tallied six goals.

The Lions (0-5) fell in their first match to Bucknell 14-3. Leading the way for Behrend was Edwin Doo (Placentia, CA / Valencia) who scored two goals and Andrew Lockwood (Orlando, FL / Lake Nona) who made eight saves.

The Lions battled through their next two matches against Toronto and Navy, but dropped by scores of 17-4 in both games. Nguyen scored two goals in each game, while Lockwood made eight and six saves respectively. Grant Garcia (Kingsburg, CA / Kingsburg) and Kyle Frerichs (Sellersville, PA / Pennridge) each scored a goal in Toronto game.

Behrend's fourth and final match was their best match of the weekend. The Lions scored 11 goals coming from six different players. Justin Spence (Houston, TX / Cy-Fair) and Cameron Makin (Pittsburgh, PA / North Allegheny) each scored their first goals of the weekend by scoring two. Lockwood and Ty Elder (Brentwood, CA / Heritage) each scored one.

Behrend battled the entire game but were unable to get within four goals of Washington & Jefferson losing by a final score of 18-11.

Lockwood made 29 saves on the weekend and Cedrick Chan (Naperville, IL / Waubonsie Valley) made six more for the Lions.

Behrend is back in action on September 26th when they take on Washington & Jefferson in their home pool at 7:30 p.m.
