Lions Fall To Golden Knights

ERIE, Pa - The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team fell to Gannon Saturday afternoon by a score of 18-8.

Isaak Hatopp (Saline, MI/Saline) paced the Lions (0-23) offense with four goals and Andre Sardaryzadeh (Murrieta, CA/Elsinore) added two.

The Golden Knights (12-4) started the game on an 8-0 run which gave them a commanding first quarter lead. Sardaryzadeh put the Lions on the board with 15 seconds remaining in the first.

Hatopp got the offense going in the second quarter where he recorded three of his goals. Sardaryzadeh added his second goal of the game as Behrend would go on to outscore Gannon 4-3 as they headed to the third quarter. 

Ben Katsarsky (Syracuse, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt) and Hatopp each recorded a goal in the third, but Gannon added five to make the score 16-7 heading into the final eight minutes.

Cameron Makin (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) added the final goal for the Lions at the 5:14 mark. He also made three saves in net where he split time with Kyle Frerichs (Sellersville, PA / Pennridge) who added two saves.

Behrend will be back in action when they travel to Los Angeles, CA for the MPSF Championships on November 19.
