Behrend Lions Drop Two on Saturday

CLAREMONT, Ca. – Penn State Behrend wrapped up play in the Gary Troyer Invitational with narrow defeats to La Verne and Caltech on Saturday afternoon.  Behrend had previously taken on nationally-ranked Occidental and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Friday night.

Friday, October 5

No. 10 Occidental 20, Penn State Behrend 3 BOX SCORE


Dario Gonzalez (Hanford, CA/Hanford West), Andre Sardaryzadeh (Murrieta, CA/Elsinore), and Greg Kinlzer (Kiski, PA/Agora Cyber Charter School) each scored one goal against the Tigers.
Joshua Koornneef (Grand Haven, MI/Grand Haven), and Isaak Hatopp (Saline, MI/Saline) had one assist.
* Alijah Santangelo (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) made three saves in goal.  

No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 14, Penn State Behrend 4

* Austin Hoff (Lake Forest, CA/El Toro), Hatopp, Gonzalez, and Cameron Makin (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) each scored one goal against the Stags.
* Alijah Santangelo again had three saves.
* Greg Kinzler chipped in two steals.

Saturday, October 6 

No. 10 La Verne 19, Penn State Behrend 10 BOX SCORE

Kyle Frerichs (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) led the offense with three goals.  Dario Gonzalez added two goals.
* Five other Behrend Lions chipped in with one goal.
* Alijah Santangelo made four saves.

Caltech 10, Penn State Behrend 8

Greg Kinzler tallied four goals in a narrow loss against the Beavers. 
* Isaak Hatopp and Kyle Frerichs had four and three steals respectively.
Alijah Santangelo made nine saves and had three steals.
