Men’s Water Polo Falls To Mercyhurst And Salem At Erie Prep Center

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team was unable to get past Mercyhurst and Salem on the final day of the Gannon Invitational Sunday.

Match One
Score: Mercyhurst 15, Penn State Behrend 8
Records: Mercyhurst (5-20), Penn State Behrend (5-11)

Key Moments:

* Jack Holl (Greenwich, CT/Greenwich), Nick Thompson (Hudsonville, MI/Hudsonville), and Evan Blasky (Rockford, MI/Rockford) each netted two goals for Behrend
* Thompson tallied a team-high 11 shots and three steals, while Atticus Bowman (Albuquerque, NM/Volcano Vista) recorded two assists
* Other Lions to score against the Lakers were Dylan Hayslip (Flower Mound, TX/Marcus) and Robert Bakh (Issaquah, WA/Gibson EK)
* Ethan Friedman (Valley Center, CA/Valley Center) finished with 12 saves in net

Key Moments:

* Holl led the Lions with four scores in their final game of the Gannon Invite
* Thompson delivered a hat trick, while Leo Galocha Nikolic (Bethesda, MD/Walt Whitman), Harsh Nigam (East Grand Rapids, MI/East Grand Rapids), and Connor Bradley (Collegeville, PA/Perkiomen) each chipped in with a goal
* Galocha Nikolic and Holl registered a game-high five shots apiece
* Bowman had the lone assist for Behrend, while Thompson took the ball away three times on the defensive end
* Friedman and senior Leyton Vrono (Murrieta, CA/Murrieta Valley) combined for 13 saves
