DALLAS, Texas – The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team defeated Wheaton (MA) 24-4 and then narrowly fell 9-8 to host Austin on the first day of the Austin Invitational on Saturday.

* Nine players found the back of the net against Wheaton (MA)
* Nick Thompson (Hudsonville, MI/Hudsonville) and Connor Bradley (Collegeville, PA/Perkiomen) led the Lions with a game-high six goals each on seven attempts

* Goalies Ethan Friedman (Valley Center, CA/Valley Center) and Andy Zhuri (Houston, TX/Stratford) combined for 17 saves in Behrend's first contest on Saturday
* Behrend outshot Wheaton 63 percent (24-for-38) compared to 25 percent (4-for-16), while holding an advantage in blocks (19-10), steals (19-16), and sprints (4-0)

Key Moments:
* After trailing for three quarters, Behrend knotted the score at eight apiece in the fourth quarter thanks to an Aikens score
* However, Anthony Sury found the back of the net late in the final quarter to just get the Kangaroos past the Lions
* Senior Jack Holl (Greenwich, CT/Greenwich) converted on three of six scoring chances to lead Behrend, while Aikens and Thompson each delivered two goals
* Bradley also notched a score for the Lions
* Friedman made 10 saves to go along with a team-high four steals in net
* Both teams finished with 12 blocks apiece in Saturday's final game
