Lions Begin Season With Buffalo State Invitational
The Penn State Behrend men’s cross country team began the season at the Buffalo State Invitational early Saturday afternoon finishing 6th out of 8 teams.
GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. - The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team began the season at the Buffalo State Invitational early Saturday afternoon finishing 6th out of 8 teams.
Denis Lydon (Plum, PA/Plum) paced the Lions with a time of 27:50, earning a 14th place finish. Michael Smolinski (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) started the year off strong with a time of 29:29 to finish in the top 50. Two rookie runners for the Lions, Billy Cvecko (Erie, PA/McDowell) and Jason Zabelsky (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) rounded out the top four with times of 30:04 and 30:09 respectively.
The Lions get a week off before returning to their home course on September 17th for the Behrend Invitational.
