Lions Finish Third at Roberts Wesleyan Invitational

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team finished in third place at the Roberts Wesleyan Invitation on Saturday.

Denis Lydon (Plum, PA/Plum) led the way for the Lions placing in the top 15 for the third time in three races this season.  Lydon clocked in with a time of 27:03 to finish in eighth place. First-year runner Billy Cvecko (Erie, PA/McDowell) continued to build on his strong season by coming in at 27:43 to finish in 20th place.

Carl Kallgren (Erie, PA/McDowell) finished just behind Cvecko at 27:49 while Jason Zabelsky (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) finished up with a time of 28:11.  Alex Myers (Oakmont, PA/Riverview) rounded out the top five for Behrend with a time of 28:56.

Out of the 117 total runners, the Lions had five in the top 50.  Behrend was able to use the top five times to finish ahead of nine teams.

The Lions will get the week off before heading to the DeSales Invitational on October 8.
