Lions Finish 25th at Regionals
The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team finished in 25th place out of 47 teams at the regional meet on Saturday afternoon.
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team finished in 25th place out of 47 teams at the regional meet on Saturday afternoon.
A total of 328 runners competed in the 8K race with the Lions placing four in the top 150.
Denis Lydon (Plum, PA/Plum) led the way for Behrend. Lydon placed 77th with a pace of 5:33. He clocked in with a time of 27:30. Senior Carl Kallgren (Erie, PA/McDowell) capped off his senior career with a time of 28:17 to finish in 123rd place.
Billy Cvecko (Erie, PA/McDowell) finished up his first year with a 142nd place finish. Cvecko was close behind Kallgren with a time of 28:37. Alex Myers (Oakmont, PA/Riverview)) finished just after Cvecko. Myers came in at 28:42. Freshman Jason Zabelsky (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) rounded out the top five for the Lions. Zabelsky ran a strong race with a time of 28:54 for a 158th place finish.
