Lions Card Top-20 Finish at Inter-Regional Rumble
Denis Lydon paced the Penn State Behrend men’s cross country team with 67th place finish and a time of 26:24.0 and Jake DeWeese finished 92nd, coming in at 26:59.4 at the Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday afternoon.
OBERLIN, Oh. – Denis Lydon (Plum, PA/Plum) paced the Penn State Behrend men's cross country team with a 67th overall finish and a time of 26:24.0 and Jake DeWeese (Freedom, PA/Freedom Area) finished 92nd, coming in at 26:59.4, at the Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday afternoon.
The Lions finished 19th overall in the Ohio event, which was the final tune-up before the AMCC Championships. That event will be held November 2 in Buffalo, NY.
Michael Smolinski (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) finished with a time of 27:22.4 (121st place), Devin Beggs (Franklin, PA/Franklin) came in 144th place with a time of 27:36.1, and Josh Natalie (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy-Strong Vincent) came in at 28:03.7, good for 166th place.
The 8K event featured one of the biggest fields of the season, with 277 participants.
The Lions will now have a week off before going after their third straight AMCC championship in Buffalo.
