MEADVILLE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend Lions men's cross country team opened up their season at the Allegheny College Classic 5k on Saturday. The Lions finished in third place and had five runners in the top 20.

Devin Beggs (Franklin, PA/Franklin) was the top finisher for Behrend placing 10th with a time of 16:48. Jake DeWeese, (Freedom, PA/Freedom Area) Dylan Buffington, (Brookville, PA/Brookville) Jacob Parsons (Titusville, PA/Maplewood) and Josh Natalie (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy-Strong Vincent) all placed in the top 20 with times of 16:49, 17:01, 17:05 and 17:17 respectively.

The Lions will return to action Saturday September 6 at Franciscan at 11:00 am.
