Lions Finish Second at the Behrend Invitational

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team took second place out of 16 teams at the Behrend Invitational on Saturday. Behrend finished with an overall team score of 59.

Jake DeWeese (Freedom, PA/Freedom Area) was the top finisher for the Lions taking seventh place with a time of 27:08.7. Teammate Devin Beggs (Franklin, PA/Franklin) finished just behind DeWeese in eighth place with a time 27:11.9.

Behrend also got a Top Ten finish from freshman Dylan Buffington (Brookville, PA/Brookville). Buffington placed 10th with a time of 27:31. 

Freshman Jacob Parsons (Titusville, PA/Maplewood) placed 14th finishing with a time of 27:41.2.

Josh Natalie, (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy-Strong Vincent) Cody Cornell, (Conneaut Lake, PA/Conneaut Lake) and Ian Griffith (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) all had strong performances finishing with times of 27:53.5, 28:03.6 and 28:14.3 respectively.

The Lions will run again Saturday September 20th at the Dickinson Invitational.
