Lions Win Fourth Straight AMCC Championship

STEUBENVILLE, Oh. – Devin Beggs (Franklin, PA/Franklin) led the Penn State Behrend men's cross country team to their fourth straight and eighth overall AMCC championship Saturday with a first place finish. Beggs finished with a time of 27:01. The Lions recorded a perfect team score of 15, placing the top five runners. The race marked the second straight year a Behrend runner won the AMCC meet.

As depth has been a key to success for the squad all year, today was no different. All seven Behrend runners finished in the top twelve and earned All-Conference honors. Finishing just behind Beggs in second, was Jacob Parsons (Titusville, PA/Maplewood) who ran a time of 27:04, his best time of the season.

Jake DeWeese (Freedom, PA/Freedom Area) had a strong performance running a 27:15 and taking third place. On the heels of DeWeese was Dylan Buffington (Brookville, PA/Brookville). The freshman took fourth place in his first All-Conference competition coming in just one second behind DeWeese at a mark of 27:16.

Four seconds behind Buffington was Josh Natalie (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy-Strong Vincent). Natalie came in fifth place running a season best time of 27:20.

Alan Yocca (Plum, PA/Plum) and Ian Griffith (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) both ran well coming in eighth and twelfth place respectively. Yocca ran a 27:47 and Griffith ran a 28:06.
