Lions Compete at NCAA Regionals
The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team placed 16th out of 52 teams at the NCAA Regionals hosted by Dickinson on Saturday. The Lions finished with a team score of 492.
CARLISLE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team placed 16th out of 52 teams at the NCAA Regionals hosted by Dickinson on Saturday. The Lions finished with a team score of 492.
Jacob Parsons (Titusville, PA/Maplewood), who led Behrend to an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) crown, also led the Lions at NCAA Regionals. Parsons finished in 59th place out of 371 runners with a time of 26:51.6.
Seniors Josh Natalie (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy-Strong Vincent) and Devin Beggs (Franklin, PA/Franklin) finished second and third for the Lions in 85th and 97th places respectively. Natalie finished in 27:16.9 and Beggs crossed the line at 27:27.7.
Finishing right behind Beggs in 109th was sophomore Ian Griffith (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional). Griffith improved on his 162nd place finish last year and cut out 30 seconds from his time to finish at 27:36.6.
Rounding out the top five for Behrend was sophomore Dylan Buffington. Buffington took 142nd with a time of 28:03.2.
The Lions wrap up another successful season that saw the program win its fifth straight AMCC Championship and ninth overall.
