Men's Cross Country Wins Behrend Invitational; Buffington Finishes First

ERIE, Pa - The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team came in first out of nine teams this Saturday afternoon at the Behrend Invitational.

Dylan Buffington (Brookville, PA/Brookville) lead the way for the Lions, finishing first overall with a time of 27:13. Behrend had five runners finish in the top 25 which helped the Lions capture first place with a score of 48. Five points behind them was Case Western Reserve (53). Point Park came in third with 59 points and Houghton and Westminster finished fourth and fifth with team scores of 109 and 131, respectively.

Jacob Parsons (Titusville, PA/Maplewood) came in behind Buffington with a time of 28:01.1, good enough for second place overall. Ian Griffith (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) finished with a time of 29:12.8 which put him third for Behrend and 12th overall. Jarrod Lipsey (Kersey, PA/St. Mary's Area) and Alex Kubala (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) rounded out the top five for behrend with time of 29:22.3 and 29:53.2, respectively. Lipsey finished 13 overall and Kubala finished 20th overall.

The Lions will be back running when they head to New York on October 8th to compete in the Houghton Invitational.
