Lions Place Sixth at Geneseo
The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team placed sixth out of 18 teams with a total score of 158 at Mike Woods Cross Country Invitation at Geneseo on Saturday morning.
GENESEO, Ny. – The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team placed sixth out of 18 teams with a total score of 158 at Mike Woods Cross Country Invitation at Geneseo on Saturday morning.
Each of the Lion's top five runners improved on their times from their previous meet. Dylan Buffington (Brookville, PA/Brookville) led Behrend with a total time of 25:37.7 earning him a 15th place finish.
Buffington was followed by Chris Drozynski (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) and Zachary Wortman (St. Mary's, PA/Elk Country Catholic) who finished 25th and 27th overall. Drozynski crossed the line with a total time of 26:04.5 and Wortman finished with a time of 26:07.8.
Sophomore Alex Kubala (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) placed in the 40th position with a total time of 26:33.6. Ian Griffith (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) rounded out Behrend's top five with a time of 26:50.0 giving him a 50th place finish.
The Lions return to action on October 7 when they travel to Houghton. The race is scheduled for an 11 a.m. start.
