ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's and women's cross country teams will begin their seasons this Friday, August 31 at the Westminster Fischer Invite in Wilmington, Pa.

* Both the men and women won Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championships last season.
* On the men's side, AMCC All-Conference performers Michael Cross, Chris Drozynski, Jake Lehotsky, and Timothy Wheeler are all set to return for the Behrend Lions.
* Zach Wortman was named the AMCC Newcomer of the Year in 2017 and returns for PSB as well.
* The women's cross country team also returns a strong core from last year's AMCC Championship squad
* Sophomore Savanna Carr was named the AMCC Runner of the Year in 2017 and became just the second-ever female Penn State Behrend women's cross country runner to compete at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships.
* AMCC All-Conference performers Riley Crismann, Courtney Sargent, Jenna Shelton, and Caitlin Plazoney, and 2017 AMCC Newcomer of the Year Kelley Giles all return this year for Behrend.
* Head Coach Greg Cooper enters his 10th season at the helm of the cross country programs. Copper was named AMCC Coach of the Year last season.
