Lions Gear Up to Host AMCC Championship Saturday

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team will host the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championship on Saturday. The event is set to begin at 11 a.m.

* The Lions are looking to win their 12th  AMCC cross country championship this weekend
* The Lions will go head-to-head with foe Franciscan, who has recorded all Top-Five times this season
* Behrend has six of the Top-15 finishes in the conference
* Phoenix Myers (Erie, PA/Seneca) has recorded the sixth best time in the AMCC this season with a 25:51.0 time at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble of October 19
* Lion's Zach Wortman (St. Mary's, PA/Elk County Catholic) tallied the ninth best time in the conference running a 25:56.0 at the Fisher Invite on August 30 at Westminster
* In the 2018 AMCC Championship, Zachary Tingley (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) had the top time for Behrend, taking home fourth place with a time of 27:16.61
