Men’s Cross Country Bound for Regional Race Saturday
The Penn State Behrend men’s cross country team will compete in the 2024 NCAA Regional Championships on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Fredonia State University Country Course.
FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team will compete in the 2024 NCAA Regional Championships on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Fredonia State University Country Course. Race time is scheduled for noon.

* Behrend's top-seven runners will compete in the regional race on Saturday
* At 2023 Regionals, Lucas Boyd (North East, PA/North East) took 43rd with a personal-best time of 25:49.3, while Bennett Kerr (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional), Nicolin Pierce (Erie, PA/McDowell), and Aidan Reinsel (North East, PA/North East) placed 85th, 104th, and 112th, respectively
* The Lions are coming off their 16th overall and fifth straight Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championship
* Boyd was named the AMCC Men's Runner of the Year. He claimed AMCC Individual Champion with a first-place time of 27:40.5 at conference championships
* This marked the third year in a row that a Behrend runner has secured conference Runner of the Year
* The top-10 runners from the meet were selected to All-Conference Team
* Joining Boyd on the All-Conference Team were Kerr, Peyton Brewer (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek), Reinsel, Tim Hamilton (Winchester, MA/Winchester), and Alex Haskins (North East, PA/North East)
* Kerr took fourth with a time of 29:00.9, followed by Brewer (29:04.1), Reinsel (29:05.8), Hamilton (29:09.8), and Haskins (29:18.6)
* Kerr is a four-time All-Conference selection, while Reinsel is a three-time selection and this is the second appearance for Boyd and Brewer
* Head coach Greg Cooper notched his 13th AMCC Coach of the Year award
