Softball Wins A Pair On Second Day
Ashley Gruber went 4-for-8 from the plate with two home runs and five RBIs to lead Penn State Behrend’s softball team to two victories on the second day of Spring Break.
CLERMONT, Fl. – Ashley Gruber went 4-for-8 from the plate with two home runs and five RBIs to lead Penn State Behrend's softball team to two victories on the second day of Spring Break.
The Lions first posted an 11-2 win over Sage, before defeating Case Western 11-9 in game two. In the opener, Behrend used the 8-run rule in the sixth inning for its first win of the season. The Lions scored seven runs in the second, one in the third and three in the sixth.
Kelsey Fuller went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Jenna Yourish knocked in three against Sage.
In the nightcap, Behrend had two five-run innings to post the win against Case. Fuller pitched seven innings for the victory. Gruber tallied two hits, including a three-run home run in the fifth.
The Lions are back in action on tomorrow Rochester and Monmouth. Games begin at 5:30 p.m.
