ERIE, Pa. – Sophomore Julie Heinl earned Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Pitcher of the Week for leading the Penn State Behrend softball team past Franciscan this weekend.

Heinl pitched five innings, giving up no earned runs and striking out three while only allowing three hits in a 10-2 win over the Barons on Saturday in AMCC action. The wins marked the Lions first conference victories this season.  Behrend captured the second game, 11-7.

Heinl is 3-2 on the mound this season with a 4.44 ERA.

The Lions return to action on Saturday at Mt. Aloysius. The doubleheader begins at 1 p.m.
