Greene, Gruber Earn All-AMCC
Amy Greene and Ashley Gruber both earned spots on the All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) softball team announced Thursday. Greene was named to the first team while Gruber landed on the third team. This is the first time both are receiving this honor.
ERIE, Pa. – Amy Greene and Ashley Gruber both earned spots on the All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) softball team announced Thursday. Greene was named to the first team while Gruber landed on the third team.
Greene, a junior catcher and first baseman, led the team and ranked fourth in the conference in batting average (.400). She recorded 38 hits, including four home runs, while scoring 22 runs. Greene had nine multiple hit games and 12 extra-base hits. She was also named to the All-AMCC first team and Newcomer of the Year in 2009.
Gruber, a second-team choice in 2009, ranked second in the conference with six home runs and tied for fifth with 11 doubles. She paced the squad with 29 RBIs on 21 hits this season. Her .348 batting average was good enough for second on the team.
