ERIE, Pa. – Rising seniors Amy Greene and Morgan Griffin are two Penn State Behrend softball players who joined athletes from across the country to represent USA Athletes International (USAAI) at the Prague Joudrs Softball Tournament in Praque, Czech Republic from June 8-16.
USA Athletes International, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to giving amateur athletes and coaches the opportunity to participate in International Olympic style sporting events throughout the world, while also allowing them to broaden their educational and cultural knowledge of the world through the experience.
"It was a great opportunity meeting new people, learning the culture and playing against players from a different country," said Amy Greene. "Playing with a team that just met the day before the games was a very neat experience."
The USAAI team played five games in Prague, posting a 3-2 record before traveling to Vienna, Austria for one game. Along with playing international teams, the players experienced Old Town Prague and Prague Castles as well as the sights of Austria.
