Softball Drops a Pair in Florida

CLERMONT, Fl. – The Penn State Behrend softball team only got one run on the board in a 3-1 loss to Monmouth (Ill.) and then fell to Heidelberg 8-0 in the second game of the day in Clermont, Florida.

In the first game, Amanda Krolczyk (Union City, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) went 2-for-3 and Kelsey Fuller (Albion, PA/Northwestern) knocked Syndey Sherrieb (Washington, PA/Trinity) on a SAC fly after her double got her on base in the third inning.

Heidelberg scattered eight runs across seven innings, scoring four in the sixth for the shutout.

Maddie Mulig (Shaler, PA/Shaler) and Leah Griffin (Springboro, PA/Conneaut Valley) each had two hits in the nightcap.

The Lions return to action tomorrow against Sage at 1 p.m. and Ithaca at 3 p.m.
