ERIE, Pa. – Sophomore pitcher and left fielder Kelly Hedderick (Waterford, PA/Mercyhurst) has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Softball Player of the Week for helping the Lions go 6-0 last week in conference play.

Hedderick was instrumental in a perfect record on the week, hitting .476 in 21 appearances at the plate. She tallied 10 hits, scoring 11 runs while knocking in 13 more and smacking seven extra-base hits including four home runs.

Hedderick had four multiple-hit games along with two doubles and one triple. Her solo homer in the bottom of the sixth inning against Penn State Altoona gave the Lions the go-ahead run and win on Saturday.

Behrend is back in action on Thursday at Pitt-Bradford. The doubleheader begins at 3 p.m.
