Softball Wins Two Games; Kargol Hits Three-Run Home Run

PLANT CITY, Fl. – The Penn State Behrend softball team took two wins on Thursday over Ohio Northern and Bluffton at the Sunkissed Games.

Game 1
* Behrend's Kristen Kargol (Saegertown, PA/Cambridge Springs) hit a three-run homerun in the fifth inning to take a lead over Ohio Northern
* The Lions played their first game on Thursday against Ohio Northern, winning 10-9
* Behrend fell behind 4-0 in the second inning, before getting back into the game
* The Lions had a huge fifth inning, scoring seven runs to take the lead, 9-7
* Mackenzie McIntire (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) tallied three hits, one run, and one RBI

Game 2
* The Lions took on Bluffton in their second game on Thursday winning, 9-5
* Behrend shut out the Beavers in the first inning, taking a 4-0 lead by the middle of the second inning
* The Lions scored four runs in the fifth inning led by Katie Gozzard (Pittsburgh, PA/Deer Lakes) who had a single tallying two RBI's
* AJ Nichols (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) had three RBI's along with two hits
* Carson Hauser (Westfield, NY/Westfield Academy) had three runs along with two hits and two RBI's
