Lions Remain Undefeated in AMCC Play with Two Wins over Medaille

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend softball team swept the Medaille Mavericks on Tuesday in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference doubleheader.

Game 1
* Behrend took on the Mavericks in game one, winning 9-0 in five innings
* The Lions were up 5-0 when they entered the fifth inning
* With bases loaded, the Lions scored four runs including three off an AJ Nichols (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) double to finish the game
* Nichols ended the game with three hits, three RBI's and two runs
* Nichols also pitched the shutout for Behrend, striking out seven
Game 2
* Behrend won the second game of the series against Medaille, 10-7
* The Lions were up 8-0 before the Mavericks came back to score four in the fourth inning
* Kristen Kargol (Saegertown, PA/Cambridge Springs) had a team high four RBI's and three hits
* Kargol had two singles including one in the second inning to bring home Alaina Derzak (Seven Fields, PA/Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic) and Nichols
* Pitcher Brittney Williams (Atlantic, PA/Conneaut Lake) got the win in the circle, improving her record to 4-1
* With the two wins, the Lions continue to be undefeated in conference play holding a record of 6-0
