ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend softball team announced their team awards for the 2019-20 season as voted on by members of the team.

Nicole DeRose (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) was named the Rookie of the Year while Kendra Schreck (Emlenton, PA/Cranberry) earned the Scholarship/Leadership award.

DeRose played in 10 games for the Lions. She finished the shortened season with eight hits and seven runs in 25 at-bats. DeRose tallied one double and one RBI. The outfielder finished with a 1.00 fielding percentage.

Schreck, a senior is a four-year player for Behrend. The catcher appeared in 63 games for the Lions and had 100 at-bats in her career. She tallied 31 hits, 21 runs, and 15 RBIs. Schreck was named to the 2020 AMCC All-Sportsmanship team.
