Lions Swept Pitt-Bradford Sunday Afternoon

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend softball team swept Pitt-Bradford on Sunday in a non-conference doubleheader.

Game 1
* In game one, Behrend took down the Panthers, 6-3
* The Lions quickly fell behind 1-0 but had a four-run second inning to take the lead
* Emi Curcio (Perryopolis, PA/Frazier) and Angela Dale (Clinton, PA/West Allgheny) both tallied one RBI in the second and Maria Jones (Wilcox, PA/Johnsonburg) sent home two
* Pitt-Bradford came back, scoring two in the third to make the score 4-3 in favor of the Lions
* Amy Nolte (Imperial, PA/West Allegheny) doubled to center in the fourth inning to send home two runners, giving Behrend a 6-3 lead to win the game
* Alaina Wyckoff (Elma, NY/Iroquois Central) pitched a complete game, improving to 3-1 on the season

Game 2
* Behrend won the second game of the series against Pitt-Bradford, 5-1
* The Lions scored five unanswered runs until the Panthers scored one run in the fifth
* Marissa Torretti (DuBois, PA/DuBois), Kylee Bundy (DuBois, PA/DuBois), and Mackenzie McIntire (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) each had two hits in game two
* McIntire tallied a double and two RBIs
* Nadia Bongiorni (Avella, PA/Avella) had her first career hit, hitting a double in her first appearance of the season
* Torretti tallied her 10^th stolen base of the season, her sixth this week
* Ashleigh Schmidt (Sarver, PA/Freeport) improved to 4-1 on the season with a complete game
