Lions Take Down Mt. Aloysius on Senior Day; Win AMCC Regular Season Title

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend softball team swept Mt. Aloysius in their regular season finale in two Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) games.

Key Moments
* The Lions claimed the AMCC regular season champion title
* Behrend finished conference play with a 14-2 mark and will be the #1 seed in the AMCC tournament
* Mackenzie McIntire (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) hit her 47th career double to break the Behrend record
* McIntire also tallied her 100th career RBI in the first inning of game one

Game 1
* In game one, Behrend took down the Mounties, 10-6
* The Lions and Mt. Aloysius had a back-and-forth battle throughout the game, becoming tied after the fourth inning
* With two outs in the bottom of the sixth, Behrend loaded the bases and ended up scoring four runs
* McIntire went 4-for-4 in game one with two RBIs
* Maria Jones (Wilcox, PA/Johnsonburg) and Ashleigh Schmidt (Sarver, PA/Freeport) each had a double and two singles in four at-bats
* The Lions had three stolen bases included a double steal in the sixth inning by Jones and Angela Dale (Clinton, PA/West Allegheny) to score a run
* Schmidt tallied the win on the mound after coming in in relief. She improved to 8-1 on the season

Game 2
* Behrend won the second game of the series against the Mounties, 4-1
* The Lions took a 2-0 lead in the second inning before scoring two more runs in the fifth
* Mt. Aloysius scored their lone run in the top of the sixth but were unable to catch Behrend
* Jones went 3-for-3 with three singles to the outfield
* Samantha Manioci (Rochester, NY/Odyssey Academy) and Lauren Olevnik (Waverly Township, PA/Abington Heights) each chipped in two hits including a double
* Kayla Lindberg (Austinburg, OH/Geneva) improved to 5-3 on the season, pitching a complete game with five strikeouts
