The Penn State Behrend softball team defeated Capital 6-2 in game two but fell to Dominican 6-4 in the opener to split on day four of Spring Break in Clermont, Florida.

CLERMONT, Fla. - The Penn State Behrend softball team defeated Capital 6-2 in game two but fell to Dominican 6-4 in the opener to split on day four of Spring Break in Clermont, Florida.

Records: Penn State Behrend (2-5), Capital (1-4)
Noteworthy:
* Behrend scored six runs spanning over seven innings to earn its second win of the season
* Maria Jones (Wilcox, PA/Johnsonburg) was one of six players with a hit
* Jones tallied three RBIs; grounded out, singled and then hit into a fielder's choice
* Britney Shaw (St. Marys, PA/St. Marys) scored three runs and walked twice when at-bat
* Starting pitcher Kayla Lindberg (Austinburg, OH/Geneva) collected her first win of the season
* Lindberg only gave up two runs on six hits and fanned four batters
* Behrend took a six-run lead heading into the sixth inning
* Capital tried to rally in the bottom of the sixth with a pair of runs

Noteworthy:
* Dominican erased a 4-1 deficit with five runs in the top of the seventh inning for the come-back victory
* Jones and Samantha Manioci (Rochester, NY/Odessey Academy) each tallied two hits on four at-bats
* Jones scored twice and Manioci tallied two RBIs
* The Lions totaled seven hits, including three extra-base hits
* Manioci, Kylee Bundy (DuBois, PA/DuBois) and Ashleigh Schmidt (Sarver, PA/Freeport) each smacked a double
* Dominican tallied five runs on six hits and stole two bases to rally in the seventh
* Alaina Wyckoff (Elma, NY/Iroquois) pitched the first four innings, before Jones took over for the final three
