Softball Sweeps Pitt-Greensburg in AMCC Opener
The Penn State Behrend softball team opened Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) play with a pair of wins over Pitt-Greensburg on Saturday. The Lions won 13-0 in five innings in game one and tallied a 12-2 victory in game two.

Noteworthy:
* The Lions scattered 13 runs over three consecutive inning
* Defensively, Ashleigh Schmidt (Sarver, PA/Freeport) pitched a three-hit shutout for fourth win in the circle
* Emi Curcio (Perryopolis, PA/Frazier) went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles
* Maddie Smith (DuBois, PA/DuBois) was a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, triple and three runs scored
* Behrend grabbed a 5-0 lead after the second inning and scattered eight more over the next two

* Behrend never trailed in game two, taking a 3-0 in the third
* The Bobcats scored both runs in the bottom of the frame to make it 3-2
* The Lions scored two runs in the fifth, two in the sixth and five in the seventh
* Kylee Bundy (DuBois, PA/DuBois) registered three hits and three runs
* Cami McNany (Emlenton, PA/Allegheny-Clarion Valley) had a pair of doubles and one run
