The Penn State Behrend softball team split a pair of games on day one of Spring Break on Sunday afternoon. The Lions defeated Otterbein and fell to preseason nationally-ranked Trine.

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The Penn State Behrend softball team split a pair of games on day one of Spring Break in Auburndale, Florida on Sunday afternoon. The Lions defeated Otterbein and fell to preseason nationally-ranked Trine.
Game One: Penn State Behrend 2, Otterbein 1
Records: Penn State Behrend (1-0), Otterbein (0-1)
Noteworthy:
* Cami McNany (Emlenton, PA/Allegheny-Clarion Valley) was involved in both scoring plays for the Lions
* McNany went 2-for-3 in the game, smacking her first home run of the season in the first frame for a 1-0 lead
* McNany then got the eventual game-winning run to second in the bottom of the sixth
* With one out in the sixth, Chloe McLaughlin (Greenville, PA/Reynolds) singled to left center to send Jocelyn McNany (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) off second and home to make it 2-1
* Kayla Lindberg (Austinburg, OH/Geneva) pitched all seven innings, giving up five hits and one earned run while striking out two
* Behrend scored two runs off five hits
* Emi Curcio (Perryopolis, PA/Frazier) made her lone hit a double
Game Two: Trine 10, Penn State Behrend 0
Records: Penn State Behrend (1-1), Trine (3-0)
Noteworthy:
* Trine registered four extra-base hits, including two home runs and a pair of doubles
* The Storm scored 10 runs on seven hits, including five runs in the fourth to end the game in five innings
* Giselle Riley hit a grand slam in the fourth to make it 10-0
* C. McNany tallied the lone hit for the Lions
* Trine's Debbie Hill got the win, pitching five innings and striking out 10
