Behrend Softball Home Opener Against Mt. Union Wednesday

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend softball team welcomes Mt. Union for a non-conference doubleheader in their home opener on Wednesday. The doubleheader has moved from 3 p.m. to 1 p.m. due to impending weather later in the day.

* The Lions dropped a pair of games to Geneva on Tuesday
* Behrend was edged by one run in each game, marking their fifth one-run loss this season
* Jocelyn McNany (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) went 4-for-6 with a double and an RBI for a .667 batting average
* Emi Curcio (Perryopolis, PA/Frazier) tallied three hits in the doubleheader, including a pair of doubles

* Cahill went 2-0 in the circle last week, throwing a complete-game shutout against Bethany, finishing the week with a 0.75 ERA and 12 strikeouts
* Sydney Mercer leads the team in hits (17), RBIs (13), runs (12), stolen bases (8) and doubles (7)
