Behrend Softball Defeats Hilbert in AMCC Action

ERIE, Pa. – Jocelyn McNany (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) went 5-for-5 with five RBIs, three runs and two doubles to lead the Penn State Behrend softball team past Hilbert in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) softball doubleheader on Saturday.

* Behrend recorded 24 RBIs and smacked six doubles over two games
* The Lions have now outscored opponents 56-3 in the last four contests

Game One: Penn State Behrend 16, Hilbert 1 (5 innings)
Records: Penn State Behrend (7-10, 3-0 AMCC), Hilbert (0-15, 0-3 AMCC)

Key Moments: 

* Maddie Smith (DuBois, PA/DuBois) made all three hits doubles as the leadoff hitter
* Smith was one of three players with three hits to help the Lions amass 19 hits to generate 16 runs
* Kayla Lindberg (Austinburg, OH/Geneva) improves to 4-3 in the circle, fanning nine in her five innings of work
* Lindberg allowed two hits and just one run
* Behrend took a 5-0 lead after the first two innings and used 10 hits to score nine runs in the third
* Meghan Petitte (Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs
* In the third spot, McNany was a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a pair of runs

* Behrend had another nine-run inning to take a commanding lead
* The Lions packed 11 runs in the first two innings on eight hits
* McNany and pitcher Abby Tingley (Union City, PA/Union City) registered two hits apiece
* Tingley threw a two-hit shutout and struck out four to collect her second win
* Sierra Williams (Grove City, PA/Lakeview) and McNany each smacked a double
