Behrend Softball Sweeps AMCC Weekly Awards; Dabrowski Named Field Athlete of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend softball student-athletes Abby Tingley (Union City, PA/Union City) and Sierra Williams (Grove City, PA/Lakeview) earned Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Pitcher and Player of the Week, while track & field senior thrower Dan Dabrowski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) claimed Field Athlete of the Week.

Tingley registered a 1.11 ERA in a 3-0 week in the circle, allowing three earned runs and fanning 17 batters while allowing just one walk in AMCC action. She threw three complete games, including a one-hit shutout and struck out eight against Pitt-Bradford and then picked up a 5-2 win against Altoona in the Game of the Week.

Williams hit .615/.667/1.154 in a 6-0 week for the Lions, improving the team's record to 12-0 to remain in first place of the AMCC standings. Williams recorded eight hits, including five extra-base hits, and drove in 10 runs while scoring six. The centerfielder smacked three doubles and two triples and walked twice. Williams had four RBI on two hits vs. Pitt-Bradford (game two) and went 4-for-6 with four RBI, three runs scored and a triple against Altoona.

Dabrowski notched a record-setting first-place distance of 170-2 on his sixth throw of the day at the John Papa Invitational, surpassing his previous school record of 167-9 set last season. He once again delivered a first-place finish in the discus at Geneseo, throwing a distance of 170-1.

Behrend softball competes in three doubleheaders this week, while track & field heads to Saint Francis this Saturday.
