Behrend Softball Wins Twice on Day Two of Spring Break
The Penn State Behrend softball team defeated Washington 5-1 and Kean 11-2 (5) on day two of their spring break trip in Clermont, Florida.
CLERMONT, FL – The Penn State Behrend softball team defeated Washington 5-1 and Kean 11-2 (5) on day two of their spring break trip in Clermont, Florida.
Game One: Penn State Behrend 5, Washington 1

Key Moments:
* Jocelyn McNany (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) went 2-for-3 with three runs scored out of the five along with her first triple of the season
* Lexi Edgett (Frisco, TX/Lone Star) and Alexia Brown (Wexford, PA/Pine-Richland) tallied two hits, while Edgett had a pair of RBIs and a double
* Abby Tingley (Union City, PA/Union City) was the winning pitcher, collecting six strikeouts and allowing one run in eight hits
* Edgett drove in the first two runs of the game for the Lions, one in the first and the eventual game-winning run in the third
* With two outs in the first, McNany singled and stole second before scoring on a double to left center from Edgett
* Behrend tallied three hits and scored two runs in the third to take a 3-0 lead
* Edgett drove in Izabel Pozar (Flagstaff, AZ/Coconino) and Chloe Nale (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) doubled to left center to send home McNany for her second run
* The fourth inning brough another run on Pozar's sacrifice fly to score Brown to make it 4-0
* In the first at bat in the fifth, McNany tripled to left center and scored on a throwing error by the shortstop to conclude the scoring for Behrend
* Washington tacked on its lone run in the bottom of the seventh

Key Moments:
* The Lions were able to use the eight-run rule in the bottom of the fifth inning
* Behrend had a five-run third inning and then tallied three runs in the fifth to end the game with two outs showing
* McNany and Nale each tallied three hits and four RBIs in the win
* McNany ripped three doubles and scored two runs, while Nale was a perfect 3-for-3
* Kean grabbed the early lead with a run in the second but the Lions quickly tied it in the bottom of the frame
* Behrend broke the game open in the third with five runs on four hits for a 6-1 lead
* Two more runs were scored in the fourth, before McNany's third double of the game scored Pozar and Hannah Smith (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) secured the sweep on the day
* Julia Jones (Wilcox, PA/Johnsonburg) scored two run and drove in one run with her lone hit, while recording her second win the season in the circle
