Women's Basketball Hosts Marywood In ECAC Tournament

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's basketball team will be making its eighth appearance in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament, earning the fourth-seed and playing host to No. 5 Marywood on Wednesday night in first-round action at 7 p.m. in the Junker Center.

The Lions (19-7) return to ECAC Tournament for the first time since the 2006-07 season.  Behrend advanced to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) semifinals and fell to Medaille, 60-59 on Friday.  The Pacers (19-7) are making their first-ever trip to the tournament and has tied a program record for most wins in a season. Marywood fell to Immaculata in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) semifinals.

The winner will advance to the top-seeded Waynesburg this weekend in hopes for a chance at the ECAC South Region title.

Behrend is looking for its third ECAC title, winning the championship in 1991-92 and 1995-96.
