ERIE, Pa. – Brianna Bayly (Imperial, PA/West Allegheny) hit a five-foot jumper with time expiring to lift Penn State Behrend past Penn State Altoona 67-65 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) women's basketball action on Sunday afternoon.

Bayly's shot bounced around the rim before sinking as the sound of the horn indicated end of regulation to give the Lions (2-10, 1-5 AMCC) their first conference win of the season. Bayly finished with nine points, six assists and two steals. Ally Burke (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst) was one point shy of her career high with 26 points on 9-for-14 shooting.

Courtney Becker came off the bench for the Lions (2-10, 2-5 AMCC) to score a team-best 20 points, knocking down a jumper and three pointer to knot the game twice down the stretch.

Behrend took its largest lead of the game at the 12:52 mark of the second half at 51-37. From there, Altoona slowly chipped away the deficit and got within five points at 53-48. The Lions had the advantage until the final three minutes of the game and had to hold off a surging Altoona team.

Moira Corrigan's layup tied the game at 60-all before Burke put away two free throws for a two-point lead. Becker came down the next possession and tied it again with her jumper from the charity stripe.

With one minute remaining, Natalie Corso (Moon Township, PA, Moon) drained a triple but 12 seconds later Becker pulls up from beyond the arc and makes it 65-all. The Altoona Lions had a chanceto go ahead, but Daijanae Greene missed the fast-break layup and Corrigan didn't connect from the line on two shots with eight seconds remaining to give Behrend the ball for one last chance.

Bayly got the ball off the inbounds and drove straight to the basket for the game-winning shot.

In the first half, the Lions set the tone in the first seven minutes with a 15-4 run to start the game. Burke tallied 15 of her 26 points in the opening stanza that gave Behrend a 10-point lead at halftime.
