Chess Named AMCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Freshman forward Katie Chess has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 21-27.

ERIE, Pa. - Freshman forward Katie Chess (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 21-27. 

She averaged 16.0 points and 9.3 rebounds in three games for the Lions, shooting 50 percent from the floor and going 10-for-13 from the free-throw line. Chess tallied her first double-double with a game-high 18 points and 13 rebounds against NC Wesleyan on Sunday. She was also named to the Marietta Shootout All-Tournament Team.
