ERIE, Pa. – Emily Kinecki (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst) scored 10 of her season-best 16 points in the fourth quarter, including a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line to lead the Penn State Behrend women's basketball team past Mt. Aloysius 65-60 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Saturday.

In the final home game of the year, the Lions (3-6, 2-1 AMCC) won their second straight and handed the Mounties (3-5, 2-1 AMCC) their first conference loss. Behrend was nearly perfect from the charity stripe, going 15-for-16 and pulled down a season-high 54 rebounds.

Ali Goetz (Mars, PA/Mars) and Kinecki both came off the bench to score 16 points, while Katie Chess (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds.

Mt. Aloysius had three players in double figures. Antwanye Parks led with 16 points and 10 rebounds for the double-double.

The Lions overcame a seven-point deficit at the 6:48 mark of the first quarter, outscoring the Mounties 26-14 over the next 10 minutes to grab their largest lead at 26-21. Goetz helped Behrend keep a five-point lead with a good layup with 2:14 remaining in the period, but Mt. Aloysius made a 8-0 run to end the quarter with a 32-29 lead.

In the third quarter, the Lions battled back to tie it at 41-all and then again at 46-all to begin the fourth. Behrend held the lead until the final 1:25 of the game. Kinecki's first set of free throws gave the Lions a 57-55 edge. Breana Kendrick drained a three for the Mounties to make it 58-57. Chess got the layup and Erika Woll (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) made two from the line for a three-point lead at 61-58.

Kinecki helped secure the win with going 4-for-4 from the charity stripe in the final 20 seconds.

Woll finished with eight rebounds and six points, while Kinecki was one rebound shy of the double-double with nine boards.

Behrend returns to action on Wednesday at Pitt-Greensburg. Game time is 6 p.m.
