BUFFALO, NY – The Medaille women's basketball team pulled out a 92-87 overtime victory to sweep Penn State Behrend in regular-season Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Wednesday night.

Lauren Jensen, who scored a game-high 23 points, registered 11 of the Mavericks (10-10, 9-4 AMCC) 21 points in the fourth quarter to help hold off the Lions (8-12, 7-6 AMCC) and help them to their ninth straight win.

Behrend got a career-high 24 points from Erika Woll (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) while Fontaine Glenn (West Sunbury, PA/Moniteau) hit a jumper with time expiring in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 74-all and force overtime. Glenn finished with 11 points, going 7-for-8 from the charity stripe.

The Lions battled back from 13 points down to outscore Medaille 47-34 in the second half to try and avenge a 14-point loss a month ago.

Kelli McCauley tallied four straight points at the end of the first quarter for a two-point lead for the Mavericks at 16-14. She then broke up the second period with a layup at the 5:16 mark that sparked a 13-3 run for 40-27 halftime lead.

Behrend cut the lead to seven by the end of the third quarter and kept chipping away in the fourth, holding a 28-21 advantage thanks to 14-for-16 shooting from the free-throw line. Glenn recorded seven of her 11 points from charity stripe in the fourth and knotted the game at 68-all with her final two shots from the line with 2:05 remaining in regulation.

Taina Graham followed with a three pointer and Heidi Langhorst (Corapolis, PA/Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) got the next bucket at 71-70. Reinwald hit the front end of two from the free-throw line but with the pressure on Sadie Zielinski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) got a pair of free throws to fall at 72-all. On the Mavericks final possession, Jensen drove for the layup for a two-point lead with 11 seconds left for Behrend to get to overtime or win the game.

Glenn's jump shot went in as the buzzer sounded to give the Lions an extra five minutes at Medaille on its home court.

The Mavericks set the tone for overtime with a triple from Jensen in the first eight seconds. Medaille never trailed and grabbed a double-digit lead with 42 seconds left. Behrend battled all the way back to a five-point deficit with a three pointer from Katie Chess (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) on the last shot of the night.

Glenn added a team-best eight rebounds and Chess added 12 points, along with seven rebounds for the Lions.

Behrend returns to action on Saturday against Pitt-Greensburg. Game time is 1 p.m.
