Women's Basketball Announces Team Awards

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's basketball team announced their team awards for the 2019-20 season as voted on by members of the team.

Alanna Dibble (Lakewood, NY/Southwestern) was named the Most Valuable Player of the squad, while Kara Haslett (Baden, PA/Ambridge) earned Most Improved. Freshman Brianna Dean (New Castle, PA/Neshannock) was selected Rookie of the Year and Kourtney Beamesderfer (Rebersburg, PA/Penns Valley) was given the Scholarship/Leadership Award.

Dibble was named to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) All-Conference Second Team. She played in all 27 games this season. Dibble averaged 13.1 points per game and a team best 8.0 rebounds per game. She had a team and AMCC-best 59.3 percent field-goal percentage. Dibble finished the season ranked 10th overall in NCAA Division III in this category and broke the Behrend school record.

Haslett played in all 27 games for the Lions. She started off the season as the sixth-man but soon earned her way into the starting lineup, starting in 16 consecutive games. Haslett averaged 9.8 ppg and 3.1 apg. She tallied 46 steals and 94 rebounds on the season.

Dean was first among the freshman averaging 15.9 minutes per game. She played in 20 games while starting twice. Dean averaged 3.8 ppg and 2.3 rpg. Dean was an AMCC All-Academic selection for her first season.

Beamesderfer, a three-year starter, was named to the AMCC All-Academic team this season. She started in all 28 games for the Lions, averaging 8.2 ppg and 3.0 apg. Beamesderfer also served as the team captain.
