Boyer Named D3hoops.com Region 7 Rookie of the Year

The Penn State Behrend women’s basketball freshman Madilyn Boyer has been voted D3hoops.com 2023 All-Region 7 Rookie of the Year, announced on Tuesday.

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's basketball freshman Madilyn Boyer (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) has been voted D3hoops.com 2023 All-Region 7 Rookie of the Year, announced on Tuesday.

Boyer is earning her second Newcomer of the Year honors, garnering the same accolade in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC). She also was named to the All-AMCC team for leading the conference in field-goal percentage (51.2) and three-point field-goal percentage (39.8). She was third on the team and ninth in the AMCC in scoring (15.1 ppg). Boyer was second on the team with 6.8 rebounds per game and 2.8 assists per game. She recorded five double-doubles this season and scored a season-best 24 points at La Roche.
