Lions Push Past Owls In Final Two Minutes

ERIE, Pa. – After playing its first three games on the road, the Penn State Behrend women's basketball team earned a 63-55 win over Kenyon on its home floor for the first time this season Saturday afternoon.

Key Moments:

* Behrend notched its first victory of the season Saturday afternoon
* The Lions entered halftime with a 27-24 lead, thanks to 10 first half points from junior guard Rachel Majewski (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy)
* The second half was a back-and-forth affair between both teams as there were seven lead changes and the game was tied eight times
* Behrend began the final quarter with a 40-35 deficit to Kenyon, but the Lions quickly knotted the score at 40 apiece with a jumper from Rachel Kaulis (McKean, PA/General McLane) and a pair of made free throws by Lilly Palladino (Export, PA/Penn-Trafford)
* With 2:14 left in the game, Sydney McDonough (Oakmont, PA/Riverview) hit a three-pointer to give the Lions a two-point lead (53-51) and the Blue and White would eventually pull away with some made free throws at the end to secure their first win of the new campaign
* Majewski recorded a team-high 13 points, while McDonough, Kaulis, and Morgan Altavilla (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) each tallied 12 points
* McDonough added eight rebounds and three steals, while Alexis Furyes (Medina, OH/Highland) chipped in four steals and two blocks
* Altavilla and Furyes each dished out five and four assists, respectively
* For the owls, Mikayla Rudolph scored a game-high 14  points and pulled down eight rebounds, while Claudia Cooke added 13 points and eight rebounds
* As a team, Behrend tallied 17 steals on Kenyon's 24 turnovers, scoring 23 points off those giveaways

* Behrend will head to Rochester, N.Y. to take on St. John Fisher on Tuesday, Nov. 21. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
