Fabin, Fenton Find AMCC Athlete of the Week Honors
Women’s basketball freshman Alaina Fabin (Indiana, PA/Homer Center) and men’s wrestling sophomore Nolan Fenton (Kersey, PA/Saint Marys) were named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week for the week of November 4-10.
ERIE, Pa. – Women's basketball freshman Alaina Fabin (Indiana, PA/Homer Center) and men's wrestling sophomore Nolan Fenton (Kersey, PA/Saint Marys) were named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week for the week of November 4-10.
Fabin averaged a double-double (14.5 ppg/10.5 rpg) in her first two collegiate games, helping the Lions to a 1-1 record for the week.
She recorded a team-best 16 points and 13 rebounds, while scoring the game-winning layup at the buzzer to lead the Lions past Case Western. Fabin then added 13 points and eight rebounds against Carnegie Mellon.
Fenton was the individual champion at 197 at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational this past Saturday. He went undefeated (4-0) and recorded three wins by pin to claim the title.
In the first bout, Fenton posted a pin in 1:57 and followed that with another pin in 1:16. After getting a forfeit win, he defeated Phil Nave of Gettysburg in his fastest pin of the day (0:57) for first place.
The women's basketball team plays two games at home this week, while the wrestling team competes in the Waynesburg Duals on Sunday.
