Women's Basketball Extends Win Streak to Five; Lions Down Carlow

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's basketball team continues their winning ways in January, defeating Carlow 98-47 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Monday afternoon in the Junker Center.

* Senior guard Rachel Majewski (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy) is now 14 points away from becoming the program's all-time leading scorer

Key Moments:

* The Lions have won five in a row since the beginning of the month and remain undefeated in conference play
* Behrend had three players register 20 or more points for the first time this season
* Majewski led with 23 points on 11-for-19 shooting, while Morgan Altavilla (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) added 21 points, four assists and three steals
* Madilyn Boyer (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) registered a season-high 20 points by knocking down a team-best four triples
* The Lions tied a season high in shooting percentage, recording 53.9 percent from the floor (41-for-76)
* Sydney Carr scored half of Carlow's points in the first half, posting 13 of the 26 points
* Behrend outscored the Celtics 55-21 in the second half to pull away
* Carlow used a 12-0 over a span of three minutes in the second quarter to get within 11 points at 34-23
* An Altavilla three-pointer with nine seconds left in the half gave the Lions a 17-point lead
* Alaina Fabin (Indiana, PA/Homer Center) led on the boards with eight, while Alexis Furyes (Medina, OH/Highland) six rebounds and three blocks
