Majewski Becomes All-Time Leading Scorer; Lions Handle Alfred State

ERIE, Pa. – Senior guard Rachel Majewski (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy) broke the Penn State Behrend women's basketball all-time scoring record, needing 14 and scoring 17, to help the Lions defeat Alfred State 77-52 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Wednesday night.

* Majewski broke the 23-year-old record with 43.5 seconds left in the third quarter
* Majewski scored on a fast-break layup off a pass from Alexis Furyes (Medina, OH/Highland) to move into first place in career points, sitting at 1,585 and counting
* The Lions extend their win streak to six games and remain unscathed in conference play
* Behrend held the Pioneers to 28.6 percent shooting and 18 field-goals made, the lowest by an opponent this season
* Not to be overshadowed, Madilyn Boyer (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) tallied her first double-double of the season with bests in points (21) and rebounds (11)
* Morgan Altavilla (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) added 19 points and Alaina Fabin (Indiana, PA/Homer Center) led on the boards for a second straight game with 10 rebounds to go with three blocks
* Boyer tallied 10 of her game-high 21 points in the first quarter to help the Lions grab a 22-12 lead
* The teams combined for 12 total points in the opening five minutes
* Behrend went on a 10-2 run to gain the double-digit lead that would not relinquish
