Wrestling Concludes Season at NCAA Southeast Regional

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend wrestling team competed in the 2022 NCAA Southeast Regional at Lycoming on Friday.

Key Moments:

* The Behrend Lions had five wrestlers at the regional competing in two matches each
* At 149, Cole Ruffo (Mercer, PA/Hickory) dropped to the consolation bracket after his first match against one of the top-ranked opponents in Division III
* Ruffo battled Greg Croce of Delaware Valley, falling by a 7-3 decision to eliminate him from the tournament
* Heavyweight Joe Newara (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) was in the same boat as Ruffo on the day
* Newara fell to Carter Urich of Messiah in the first round and then fell short against Brady Elswick 6-3 from Roanoke
* This tournament concludes the season for Behrend
